The Struggle of Getting Your Money Back: My Experience with GoDaddy

Being an online shopper, we have all experienced issues with purchases at one point or another. Whether it be a faulty product or a service that did not meet expectations, it can be frustrating to deal with. However, what happens when you receive a “store credit” for something you no longer use and cannot get your money back? This was my experience with GoDaddy, and I am here to share my story with you.

It all started when I received a “store credit” from GoDaddy for services I no longer used. Instead of being able to refund it back to my card like any other legitimate company, I was told it had been initiated and that I would receive an email confirmation. Days passed, and I did not receive any confirmation, so I reached out again to see if it had been initiated. I was told to wait 5-7 business days, which I did. However, nothing hit my bank account, so I called again and was told to wait 2 more days, and then 24 hours. I was becoming frustrated with their lack of action.

As a small business mom, every penny counts, and the money I was promised was important to me. I called on Friday, and after several phone calls asking to speak with a supervisor, I was told that they would call me back in 2-3 hours. However, this did not happen, and I was told the same thing every time I called back. It was not until Monday that I was told that they could not refund my card because it had been too long, but they could mail me a check in 6-8 weeks. This was not acceptable to me, and I felt that they were making promises they could not keep.

As frustrating as this experience was, I did learn an important lesson. It is essential to choose a reputable company that values their customers and can deliver on promises they make. As online shoppers, we need to ensure that we are dealing with credible companies to avoid being in a situation like mine. I hope my experience can help others who may find themselves in a similar situation. Remember to always keep track of your transactions and reach out to customer service if something seems off. And, most importantly, do not give up until you get the result you deserve.
